How to set it up
- Open the Groups tab and create a group called Home Maintenance.
- Add a reminder for each task — HVAC filter, Gutter cleaning, Smoke & CO detector batteries, Water heater flush, Dryer vent cleaning.
- Open the reminder and tap Edit. Under Schedules, add a repeating interval that matches the task — every 3 months for filters, every 6 months for a mid-year check, every year for detector batteries. For seasonal jobs, a weekday rule like the first Saturday of the month works well.
- Add advance alert offsets — 7 and 1 day before is a practical pair, so you can buy the filter or book the service before the date arrives. You can set up to 10 offsets per reminder, each between 0 and 90 days ahead.
- Under Documents, attach the appliance manual, warranty, or a photo of the model-and-serial plate. It previews with iOS Quick Look — handy when you're standing at the store matching a part.
- Add a note with the filter size, paint color code, or model number. Notes are searchable, so the detail is there when you need it.
