How to export or delete your data
Back everything up to a file, start fresh, or load examples to explore.
Your data is yours to take or remove at any time. Everything here lives in Settings › Data Management.
Export your data
- Open Settings › Data Management › Export Data.
- Everyday Cue builds a ZIP archive containing a complete JSON of your reminders, groups, schedules, notes, and metadata, plus copies of your attached documents.
- The system Share sheet appears — save to Files or iCloud Drive, email it to yourself, or send it anywhere.
Tip: an export is a handy personal backup before a big cleanup, or to keep a copy outside the app.
Load example data
Want to explore features without typing everything in?
- Open Settings › Data Management › Load Example Data.
- Everyday Cue adds a ready-made set of realistic example reminders across several groups.
Keep, edit, or delete the examples like any other reminder.
Delete all data
- Open Settings › Data Management › Delete All Data.
- Confirm the destructive alert.
Every reminder, group, document, and attachment is removed from your device. This can't be undone. If iCloud sync is on, the deletion is pushed to your iCloud container too.
Delete all data vs. uninstalling
- Delete All Data clears your content but leaves the app installed — a clean slate without reinstalling.
- Uninstall removes the app and its local data.
Either way, if iCloud sync was active, the deletion propagates to iCloud on the next sync.
Frequently asked questions
What data does Everyday Cue collect about me?
None, in the traditional sense. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, and no third-party tracking in the app. Everyday Cue has an optional "Help us improve" setting that records anonymous usage events — things like "user created a reminder." These events are stored only on your device and never transmitted anywhere. The setting is off by default. You can review it in Settings › Feedback.
How do I delete my data for GDPR or personal reasons?
Go to Settings › Data Management › Delete All Data and confirm. This removes every reminder, group, document, and attachment from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, the deletion propagates to your iCloud container on the next sync, clearing it there too. The action is permanent and cannot be undone — Everyday Cue asks for confirmation before proceeding.
What does the export file include?
The JSON export includes all your reminders (names, statuses, creation dates), groups and their sort order, all schedules (recurring intervals, one-time events, alert offsets, time zones), notes, account numbers, and metadata like pause states and expiration dates. Your document attachments (PDF, JPEG, PNG, HEIC) are included too — the export is a ZIP archive that packages the JSON data together with copies of the files, so everything comes out in one download.
Is my iCloud data private from Hartage Projects LLC?
Yes. Everyday Cue stores synced data in a private CloudKit container tied to your Apple ID. Hartage Projects LLC has no credentials to read or write that container — only your Apple ID can access it. Apple encrypts iCloud data in transit and at rest. The privacy model is the same as any other iCloud app: your data is between you and Apple.
