Everyday Cue

How to search and filter

Find any reminder, note, account number, or document by name — as you type.

When your list grows, search is the fastest way back to a single item. Everyday Cue looks across more than just names.

Search the whole app

  1. Open the Search tab.
  2. Start typing.

Results appear as you type (with a brief pause so it isn't jumpy). Search spans:

  • Reminder names
  • Group names
  • Notes
  • Account numbers
  • Document filenames

So you can find a bill by its account number, or a reminder by a word you tucked into its notes.

Tip: search matches whole words from a full-text index. If an exact phrase comes up empty, try a single distinctive word from it.

Filter on the dashboard

Search finds a known item; filters shape the whole list. On the dashboard you can:

  • Tap a status count (Urgent, Due Soon, …) to narrow by status.
  • Use the Calendar Card to scope by day, week, or month.

The two combine, so "Urgent, this week" is a couple of taps away.

Frequently asked questions

Can I search inside document content (not just the filename)? Not currently. Search covers document filenames but not the contents of PDF pages or images. Use the filename to find a document, then open it to read its content.

Why did a search for an exact phrase return no results? Everyday Cue's search uses a full-text index that matches whole words. Multi-word phrases sometimes fail if the index tokenized them differently. Try searching for one distinctive word from the phrase — e.g. "renewal" instead of "insurance renewal."

Can I filter by group on the dashboard? The dashboard shows reminders across all groups. To view a single group's reminders, open that group directly from the Groups tab. Status and calendar filters apply within the dashboard's full cross-group view.

Do filters and search work together? The Search tab and dashboard filters are separate tools. Search the whole app from the Search tab; filter by status and date from the dashboard. They can't be combined into a single results view.
